Hae Ra kept staring at her phone. Yesterday she picked a fight with HyunSeung as he said that Kwon Yuri from SNSD is prettier than her. Though she knew that he was just joking, but she didn’t like it. Being compared to someone else. Since then HyunSeung kept texting her. Whenever he called, she wouldn’t pick up.

But today, he never text nor call. She wanted to forgive him, but he didn’t make any effort to go to her class and beg for her forgiveness? She knew it sounded childish. But couldn’t her life be like those dramas on TV? And now they’re in the same cafeteria, but he never came to see her. Screw him!

She didn’t want to think about it anymore. She took a sip of her drink. Then she saw someone was coming to their way. “Omo~!”

Me and A-Lya both looked at her. “Why?” I asked.

She pointed her finger to my back. I turned around and gasped.

“Oppa~!”

“Hi cuppycake!” He smiled and gave me the prettiest roses I’ve ever seen!

“Omo~ This is for me?” 

“Of course! Who else?”

My nose sniffed the scent of the roses. Nice. GiKwang oppa took the seat beside me and joined us.

“GiKwang oppa~! It’s been awhile! What’s up?” Hae Ra excitedly greeted him.

“Ney~ Been busy. How are you pretty girl?”

“Awwwww~ I am pretty. Thanks for noticing oppa~”

“So who we got here? Have we met before?” I looked at him as he was asking about A-Lya.

“Oh this is our new friend. Min A-Lya. She just moved here.” I explained a bit. “A-Lya ah~ This is GiKwang oppa~” Frankly I don’t know whether to introduce him as my boyfriend or not. Since we never declare that title. Not like Hae Ra and HyunSeung sunbaenim.

“Oh what a pretty name. Nice meeting you, Min A-Lya ssi~” I couldn’t help but to feel a bit jealous. Why was he being nice to everyone? -_-

“So you start your class today?” I tried to switch his attention from A-Lya.

He turned himself to me, “Oh yeah~ Just for you baby. Missed you so much.”

Hae Ra was awed with the scene she just watched. If only her prince charming did that as well.

“Oppa~ cut it out!” I felt my face was burning. I was still in dazed, felt like I was flying in the air. “Let’s have lunch together after school!” GiKwang asked me out.

I was about to feel excited about it, suddenly the image of JunHyung sunbae came into my mind. “I can’t. I got tutorial session.” I was so sad and I couldn’t tell him that I was grounded.

“Oh? You got tutorial everyday is it?”

Before I managed to answer, my super fine best friend answered it for me. “Actually Dayya’s been grounded.”

“F.cuk!” I cussed under my breath. Hae Ra kept talking, “She failed her Algebra so her mom find her a tutor.” Her face looked purely innocent as if she did nothing wrong.

“Double F.cuk!” I gave her YOU-ARE-SO-DEAD-SHIN-HAE-RA-DEAD! look. A-Lya elbowed Hae Ra as she’s attempting to talk more. I kept glaring at her. She just realized what she just did, gave me an apologetic face.

“You what? Grounded? Dayya? Why didn’t you tell me?” I couldn’t face him. I wanted to be the most perfect girl in front of him. Now my so called best friend had dropped my pride in front of him! Just nice.

“…” I couldn’t utter a word. I was so embarrassed.

“It’s okay baby. Lemme walk you home after school.” Squeezing my shoulder, trying to cheer me up. He lifted my face up, and curved a smile on my face using his thumbs. I smiled.

“That’s my girl! You’re the prettiest when you smile.” He played with my bangs. His words spoiled me too much. I didn’t think I can manage if he’s not around anymore.

KRINGGGGGGGGGGGG

The bell rang. Little that I know, many pair of eyes been watching us. As all of us were about to make our way out of the cafeteria, we were blocked by someone. And it was my brother. Sohn DongWoon.

Having this annoyed face on him, “What are you doing here Lee GiKwang?”

“School?”

“School? School?” He said sarcastically.

“This is my school anyway. Is that a crime for me to attend?”

“Since when you claim this is your school?”

“Since I registered myself here?” GiKwang smirked. I didn’t know what to do. The scene seemed so tense. None of me, Hae Ra and A-Lya dared to speak.

Hae Ra saw her prince charming but she looked away. On the other hand, HyunSeung wanted to talk to her but she seemed mad. He really wanted to make it up with Hae Ra yet she seemed so cold to him. He sighed.

DongWoon felt the burning sensation all over his body. He had no idea what he was capable to do in this state. He could feel his muscles tensed up. He was about to moved closer but I stopped him.

“Oppa. Stop. It.” I could tell that he looked angrier to see me there.

“Sohn Dayya. Stay away from this mess.” He said without even looked at me and pushed my hand away. He moved closer to GiKwang until it’s only inches apart.

“You! Stay away from my sister.” He said, clenching his fist real tight. Then he turned back and left with his buddies. HyunSeung glanced at Hae Ra but she pretended as if he was not there.

“Oppa~ Gwenchana? Don’t listen to what my brother just said. Okay?” He stayed quiet. That was scary. I never saw him like this.

“I’m okay~ I’ll go to my class first. See you after school loves.” He finally smiled. Finally. I was so relieved seeing him smile like usual. “See you around pretty ladies.” He said to my girlfriends and just left without saying anything to me?! To my surprise, he did turn around and giving me a flying kiss. I think I could just faint on that time.

As we walked to the hallway to our class, A-Lya asked me. “Why did your brother act like that just now?”

“Molla~” I really have no idea about it. But I know the fact that he never liked Gikwang oppa. I just don’t know why.

Hae Ra was quiet. She was lost in her own world, again. She kept thinking about what just happened. How could he just go? Why didn’t he talk to me? Why didn’t he grab the chance? Why? Why? Why Jang HyunSeung! Babo! She screamed quietly in her heart.

“Hae Ra?” A-Lya looked at her who’s been quiet ever since their break.

“Hae Ra ah~?”

Silent.

I nudged her a bit. “Hae Ra ah~ Gwenchana?”

Still silent.

I shook her gently. “Yah~ Hae Ra ah~”

“Oh?” She responded.

“Are you okay?” Me and A-Lya both asked.

“What’s wrong?” A-Lya said soothingly.

“…”

“Do you want to tell us what’s wrong?” I asked softly. She refused to face us. She kept her head down.

“We’re friends remember.” A-Lya said while my hand’s squeezing her shoulder gently.

She turned herself to us, letting a big sigh as she was listening to the song that being played in the school radio.

The school radio’s deejay started to talk as the last song ended.

“So that was our last song for today. It was I’ll back off so you can live by G.Na. Do you all enjoy our session just now?” The deejay in-charged just talk to himself in vain as no one really paid attention to his show. Suddenly the speaker in our class let out that weird cricked sound.

“Testing?" The speaker shrieked a loud sound again. "Testing. One. Two. Three.” That was not the deejay’s voice.

“Shin Hae Ra~ Do you hear me?” Everyone’s attention turned into Hae Ra.
