Jalan Jalan South Korea: The beginning of the 'almost' Goblin trip.

السلام عليكم & 안영 to all ♥♥

It’s been a while. I’ll try my best to blog about my recent trip.

Me and Didi call it, Goblin’s trip. The original plan was to go to most of the shooting places. Manusia hanya mampu merancang. This time around we added Busan in our list since we both never sampai to Busan. Plus, we wanted to do Train to Busan thingy. Nak buat apa pon akak taktau. So it’s like Gong Yoo’s trip instead of Goblin actually. LOL.

Idk how this idea came up but the first thing we did was buying the flight ticket. It would be KL-Incheon-Busan-KL trip. Motif sangat nak naik KTX from Seoul to Busan, so baru real lah Train to Busan kan?

I’ll try to be as precise as possible.

Please be noted that I am not a backpacker, my budget might be kasar for you. But to be honest, this is the biggest budget I’ve ever had for my Korean trip. But it’s totally worth it. Tapi akak barai lah dah kopak. LOL.

I’ll skip the thing in Malaysia. I’ll proceed while we’re on board. We had that quiet zone seats; which was quite OK. This was the first time I could sleep in an AirAsiaX flight. Idk whether I was too tired or what but I got my beauty sleep perfectly. So did Didi.

We safely arrived at Incheon at 8-ish in the morning. The first thing we did was buying the T-Money at one of the convenient store.

T-Money card: KRW 4000
T-Money topup: KRW 20000

I super love the T-Money. It’s so cute!

This is the first time I didn’t rent the WiFi Portable device as Didi suggested to use the Tourist Simcard. So I was like, okay. We chose to get the 10-days simcard pack from KT.

Simcard: KRW 38500

Oh something tragic happened to my luggage. It seemed not to be working fine. It was hard to handle but I didn’t bother to check. It could still move but macam annoying sikit tarik dia. So I just let it be. Next stop was the Airport Bus counter. We certainly didn’t want to drain our energy by using the subway to get to our destination. It’s better to take the Airport Bus.

Airport Bus: KRW 14000

We didn’t have to wait long, our bus arrived minutes later. The whole journey to Myeongdong, I was busy updating myself with my Twitter feeds especially about the W1 chaotic Fan Meeting the night before.

As we arrived at Myeongdong, my luggage was being funny. Dia macam lumpuh. Again, I didn’t even bother to check. Not until we had to climb the hill to our hostel, I thought I need to check what’s up with my luggage. Oh Great. It loses one of it’s tyre. Oh Great! I was tired enough to drag the luggage up the hill but later I changed the way I drag the luggage so I won’t do extra damages to the luggage.

We were lucky because the receptionist was just about to leave and she saw us. So we left our luggage at the hostel as it was far from the check in time. The location of the hostel was the bomb. Like really really the bomb guys. It was very convenient that it’s not even 5 minutes walk from Myeongdong St. Like it was only opposite the ever famous Myeongdong shopping district. I was very happy.

We stayed at Myeongdong Stay Residence for four nights: RM531

Didi was craving for the Fishcake Oden and the Tteokbokki at the Myeongdong Underground Market, so akak layankan aje. It was fun, we even did Live Video on Instagram. My first Live Video. Saya sangat menghargai my viewers on that day. Terima kasih sudi meluangkan masa tengok kami makan. LOL!

As soon as we finished eating, Didi went to borong the cute socks while I masuk to the CD store. Checking stuffs for this one KPOP fan.

As we were already behind schedule, we rushed back to our supposed destination which was located in Incheon. I know I know why didn’t we go there first before? Guys, tak larat okay nak usung luggage ke sana ke mari. It’s Korea guys. No akak tak sanggup.

The very first stop in Seoul would be one of the shooting place of Goblin; Hanmi Bookstore.

We stopped at DongIncheon St and walked about 15 minutes I guess. It was not that chilly that day, it was still bearable.

TADAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Incheon jauh tau. LOL semata mata datang sini untuk ambil gambar dekat luar kedai sahaja. WOW sangat.

Didi said, the kedai she had tasty Sundubu Jjigae is in Gangnam. So I was like whoa dekat kawasan elit. So be prepared to bayar sahaja lah. It was confusing to get the right station, I mean which station would be the nearest to the restaurant. From DongIncheon we went to Gangnam Office St. Well that was the nearest. Still, we need to walk for a few blocks and we found it. One of the landmark that is close to that restaurant was YG K-Plus building. I prayed hard that I bump into Lee Jong Suk or Lee Sung Kyung or Nam Joo Hyuk, but it remained as my dream only.

The ambience of the restaurant was different; You know it would be a bit pricey. But it’s our first day here, so saya malas nak fikir banyak. So motif nak makan sundubu kan so proceed aja. Penat dah jalan melawan angin sejuk. So tenaga dah berkurangan. Memang nak makan terus sahaja. So when I looked at the menu I was like, hurm I thought Didi cakap kedai nih served veges only? Didi said she was surprised too. Penat wei penat. So we just proceed to order Sundubu Seafood as well as the Seafood Pajeon. Apparently I chose different set of Sundubu; Didi chose the spicy one, I chose not spicy one. You know how crazy Korean food could be? So I didn’t want to burn my tongue with overly spicy food.

When the waiter served the food, my jaw dropped as I got a crystal-cleared sundubu jjigae. Like a soup dibanjiri tofu dan seafood. Didi’s jjigae was like the normal one we had in KL. Okay takpe, it’s just the color. So I tried the broth first well I was quite starving on that time. LOL guys. It tasted like Tau Fu Fa punya kuah. Macam makanan kesihatan pon ada. I is sad. Tapi nak tak nak kenalah makan kan. It was so funny that I felt like having a plain tofu soup. Tapi hidup perlu diteruskan dan akak cuba untuk menghabiskan makanan itu. Didi's jigae tasted so much better, seriously.

Sesungguhnya makan itu nikmat.

We paid for our meal and had to pack our pajeon since we could not finish it. We made our way to The Ordinary Korea. We depended on Google Maps really really hard. Since we were not that familiar with that area. Well you know it's Gangnam but selok belok bangunan Korea could be really tricky.

I was amazed with the area we went into. It was my first time there. I never been there, as far as I could remember. It was Garosugil. Definitely a chaebol's place to hang out. Super duper rich kids you could see hang out there. We made it to The Ordinary. Gotta love the kedai, very minimalist. I was sad as they didn't have the foundation. I really wanted to test the texture.

The shop assistant was very kind and very helpful. As Didi wanted to restock her stuff, so akak try untuk tengok sekeliling kedai. Oh akak promote kawan sat, if you guys wanna try/buy The Ordinary product, check out Didi's Instagram :)

Didi bought quite number of stuff. We didn't think we can manage to carry those fragile stuff by public and the fact that kaki ktorang dah barai. Didi suggested to take the cab. Since akak pon tak larat, akak proceed sahaja. To be honest, that was like a first time I took a cab in Korea. Yela mahal kan, lagi sanggup naik train. Gitu lah. So we hopped on into a cab and off we go. Everything was fine as we're reaching Myeongdong. But I seriously had no idea what was happening that I felt like we were bumped from the side. MY SIDE. oh crap. What happened?

It was scary guys. I was ultimately shocked. Like seriously what happened. The first thing the cab 'oppa' asked us was, "Gwaenchanayo?" So we replied "Ne ne, gwaenchanayo." I didn't know whether it was considered lucky or not because our hostel was just across the road. Like actually we have reached our destination. When we went out the cab, damn son. The front tyre was completely messed up. Even the bottom front was a bit messed up. I think we hit the divider hard? We felt so bad for the cab 'oppa' but we really didn't know what to do. We just left after that as he tried to do a few calls.

I was still shocked with what had happened. It happened way too fast. And I was dead tired. And the fact that we still had a one place to go that night. We thought to go back to the hostel as we had not check in yet and we wanted to drop off the stuff. We went to the hostel but we kept talking about the cab incident. We were still shocked guys. When we arrived at our hostel, no one was around. It was 30 minutes before the operating hours ended.

Akak dah lah penat, then takde orang nak entertain ktorang. But on the receptionist desk, there two keys; one for someone who had name as mine but have additional first name. The other key didn't mention any name. My instinct said both were not ours. But Didi said, the no name key was definitely for us. I kept saying no. I was about to get pissed. I tried to check the building, if there's another sign or something. And I just noticed something, there was no lift. OH CRAP. Since the way to contact the owner was by using Kakao Talk, Didi installed it for us. Once installed, I texted the owner. Within seconds, he's out. Lahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh -.-"

A bit confusion happened as he thought I was the other person, the one the key on top of the receptionist desk. Finally we got our key. Damn son. 4th floor. No lift. Nice. Alhamdulillah kami berjaya mengangkut luggages kami ke atas. I didn't know how can I miss such an important thing?!

As expected, the room was small. Not as bad like the one I had in Hong Kong but yeah. Tak kisahlah. We settled down then we went out again. Off to the Ice Rink at the City Hall. Sesampainya di sana, dari jauh kelihatan seperti kelam. Eh takde orang ke? Yes people. No people. We were like, eh takkan lah tutup? But yes people, selepas kehulur kehilir check ada notice apa2 ke tak then kami jumpa notice saying that "Indeks kualiti udara tidak bagus." The heck? Rasanya macam HD 4K je pemandangan kte time tuh. Apa yang kualiti udara tak bagus? Masa tuh pending kejap. I felt like cara kira kualiti udara dekat Korea dengan Malaysia sangat lain. Dekat Malaysia kalau dah tak nampak jalan baru kira kritikal. Oh well.

So we ended up ambil gambar sahaja. Kesian Didi kempunan. That would be it for our first day.
